First U.S. edition of this Haycraft-Queen Cornerstone. Very good+ lacking a dust jacket. The cloth is worn and slightly frayed at the bottom of the spine and front corners. The tissue guard protecting the frontispiece and the title page have a small tear at the top edge of each. A few pages have been opened roughly, leaving small tears at the foredge. The spine is slightly sunned, and the rear endpaper has a vertical crease from top to bottom. Even with the listed defects, a solid copy of this classic of the mystery genre.

Second printing (October 1899) of the first US edition, very good in original dark green cloth with four color illustration of a castle on a cliff on the front board. Front endpaper is missing, and somehow the word "Miranda" appears to be missing near the top of the title page. "270" written in ink on both the front pastedown and the title page. Fairly tight, with the outside being clean and the gilt fairly bright, this copy looks nice on the shelf.

First US edition, very good+ in a very good dust jacket. Green cloth slightly worn at edges; faint foxing to endpapers. The jacket is missing about 1" at the top of the spine, affecting the title. Nice pastel colored dust jacket in the art deco style depicting a man and woman in a sailboat.
