1st edition. Very good lacking a dust jacket. Black cloth is a little worn on spine and rear board. The pages have some mild foxing, primarily the first few pages. Large piece of paper is glued to the spine, obscuring about 80% of it, and the author's name and title are written in large block letters on it. One of Chesterton's non-Father Brown crime novels.

Frontispiece is a photograph of the author, with tissue guard protection.
