Very good+ in original embossed brown cloth. Spine is a little sunned and the gilt lettering of the title and author's name is dulled and partially flaked away. The publisher's name in gilt at the bottom of the spine is more legible. Tiny hole in cloth near bottom of spine, minor foxing intermittently throughout. Owner's signature twice on title page. Civil War era snapshot of New York City by this journalist/novelist.
