Bookplate on front endpaper, gift inscription tipped in at half title page. There is minor foxing at endpapers and page edges. The jacket has minor loss at the top of the spine. A nice copy of the author's first book, inscribed by the author in 1934 on the front pastedown to the person whose bookplate is on the front endpaper. Price: 225.00 USD

Original edition was published in 1932 by Houghton Mifflin. Erasure on front endpaper; price clipped jacket has some minor rubbing at edges and a closed tear at the top of the rear gutter. The jacket also has some minor spotting. Includes illustrations, bibliographical essay, and an index; 349 pages including a list at the end of the book of the 46 titles in The Civilization of the American Indian Series, of which this is #46. Small "Tulsa County Historical Society" stamp on endpapers and top edge of pages. The jacket has edgewear and small closed tears, and the spine is just slightly sunned. Inscribed on the front pastedown by the author, as Stanley Campbell. He has written "first edition" below and underlined it. Scarce in dust jacket, and even moreso signed. Price: 350.00 USD
